Foundations of Design: Representation was a challenging yet enjoyable course overall that exposed me to a range of technologies and tools to help convey design ideas across a range of media such as Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Additionally, during the tutorials, I learned how to think conceptually and develop initial ideas, into executed outcomes, and most importantly, how to modify and compromise on ideas that cannot be executed to move forward towards deadlines and product completion. The skills and knowledge gained throughout FoDR will benefit me in future when completing my Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

My favourite Assignment/module throughout the course was Module 2, Surface vs Pattern. Following on from my previous knowledge of Rhino gained in module 1 I felt confident testing and iterating many versions of the hybrid and grid studies, I also enjoyed the way that the two inputs came together to create a composite and artefact in the end. Although I faced some hurdles when unrolling my geometry causing me to pivot to alternate ideas, I was happy with the end result and felt I learnt the most from this module in particular
